'OUR HOUSE'

Well, here I go .. Welcome to my Blog!
I've never used a format like this before .. no doubt it will be confusing to follow, but I'm hopeful of getting the hang of it before too long! Now to start ..

Two & a half years ago, my hubby (Murray) & I moved back to Tenterfield after a 3yr move to the mid-Nth coast of NSW.
This is the story of 'Our House' .. as yet un-named by us, but affectionately known by most in town as 'Mrs. Holly's House' .. the original owner. It sits across the road from where we both lived before moving away & then 'coming home' .. funny the roads on which life takes you! Here's a pic .. taken from the front gate ..

The 2 'lumps' are our dogs .. 'Boss', an Irish Wolfhound, on the left & 'Dolly', a Great Dane', on the right. I'll show you more of the added gardens later ..

We've been having fun doing various 'projects' about the house & the half acre of remnant original garden & adjoining 'horse paddock' .. adding many more garden sections, plants & fish ponds, while turning the horse paddock into something to resemble a garden!
I've a passion for all things 'green' & love Cannas, currently having over 40 different ones & recently growing some from imported seeds .. the first time I tried! I hope the 'baby' cannas look like the parent flowers! Here's a pic. ..

I sent some of the seeds from a Canna (an early hybrid of Canna glauca, a water canna) that was already growing here to a Canna friend in Poland .. he sent me a photo of one of the blooms produced this year .. totally different to the 'parent' canna blooms! Isn't pollination wonderful! He named it after me .. here's a pic .. because we both have freckles?!  :)
